Although no event planner is the same, a general rule of thumb is to consider their fee as part of your total budget instead of an added expense.  Most planners will help you save money by steering you in the right direction and keep you well within your budget.  They can save you time and money so you can consider their fee as what you would save in time and headache medicine!

~ Choosing an event planner

Interview the potential consultant and ask as many questions as possible about your wedding to find out their fee structure, any contract limitations, and what exactly they can do for you.  How long have they been in business?  How many weddings have they planned?  Can you get references?  They can help you with any part of your wedding from the engagement to the honeymoon, and most are willing to let you pick their brains to get new and innovative ideas!
