~ Timing the delivery

Be sure to coordinate the delivery times with both the baker and the reception hall. Because tiered wedding cakes will most likely have their final assembly on site, the hall would need to have the cake table set and covered before the cake arrives.

~ Budgeting

Cakes are typically sold by the slice, so if you have a budget for your cake, just divide that number by your estimated guest count. Some reception halls will charge a "cake cutting fee" so keep this in mind when shopping around for a suitable hall. A great money saver would be to have a small cake on display and have the staff cut and serve a sheetcake or similar cake from the back.
